The CE-marked FibriCheck app is now available for download from the Samsung Galaxy Store for the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Watch3, demonstrating the technology’s true cross-platform compatibility.
The FibriCheck app that helps detect potentially debilitating heart rhythm irregularities such as atrial fibrillation will be available in the Galaxy Store, for the Samsung Galaxy Watch3, in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
The announcement comes hard on the heels of a similar agreement concluded with a third-party manufacturer less than 12 months ago, once again demonstrating the platform-independence of FibriCheck’s technology. Employing a state-of-the-art CE-certified solution for the detection of heart rhythm disorders, FibriCheck’s interoperability means it can be integrated in virtually any wearable device equipped with a photoplethysmogram (or PPG) sensor, such as those fitted on the Samsung Galaxy Watch3.
Lars Grieten, CEO and founder of FibriCheck: “We see it as our mission to make advanced heart rhythm monitoring solutions available to as wide a public as possible, so that people around the world can live healthier lives. This partnership with Samsung to deliver the FibriCheck application via their wearable platform is a major milestone on our roadmap.”
The intuitive and easy-to-use FibriCheck app works in exactly the same way on the Samsung Galaxy Watch3 as on other devices. The app’s light-based system uses the built-in PPG sensor to capture the raw signals and analyses both the rate and rhythm of the user’s heartbeat via their wrist. Once activated, the app takes measurements over a period of 60 seconds, notifying the user of any irregularities and storing the data in comprehensive reports that can easily be forwarded to the user’s physician. When performed daily over an extended period, these measurements give both doctor and patient valuable insights into the user’s heart health.
Certified peace of mind
FibriCheck’s powerful, medically-tested smartphone application was the first to receive FDA approval and CE-certification. When installed on a mobile or wearable device such as a smartphone or smartwatch, it converts the consumer device into a fully-certified medical device capable of performing highly accurate measurements comparable to electrocardiogram (ECG) technology. Indeed, clinical trials have confirmed the high level of accuracy of the FibriCheck application running on Samsung smartwatches, indicating that it is as effective as electrocardiogram (ECG) technologies. As such, FibriCheck is the first CE-certified app to be made available via the Samsung platform.
Unique offer: free of charge for 30 days
Samsung Galaxy Watch3 users will be able to use the FibriCheck Essential plan free of charge for a period of 30 days.
We are confident this will pave the way for even more advanced solutions for an even wider cross-section of the population in the near future. In other words, stay tuned for more.
