Bridging the gaps in arrhythmia monitoring
ZOL’s cardiology department aimed to integrate digital health and hybrid care to improve their post-PVI pathway. Before integrating FibriCheck, this pathway relied on intermittent ECGs and Holter monitoring to follow up on patients after a PVI procedure. This type of traditional monitoring can miss early arrhythmia events as an irregular heart rhythm doesn’t appear continuously. ZOL was looking for a cost- and time-efficient approach to detect atrial fibrillation recurrence after PVI treatment. The goal was to evaluate ablation success and support clinical decisions without adding unnecessary burden or complexity.
FibriCheck was added as a complement to ZOL’s standard post-PVI pathway. Using just a smartphone, patients were empowered to measure their heart rhythm themselves, while results were automatically transmitted and monitored by the ZOL care team.
