The goal
SprING (short for “Samen de digitale Implementatiekloof overbruggen voor een Nieuw hybride normaal in de Gezondheidszorg”, or “bridging the digital implementation gap together for a new hybrid normal in healthcare”) works towards the sustainable implementation of hybrid care pathways in Flemish healthcare. The idea is to combine physical and digital care intelligently, so care becomes more efficient, more accessible and more patient-centred.
The approach
The project develops a workable, scalable and evidence-based model for hybrid care pathways, starting with atrial fibrillation patients after an ablation. Five work packages deliver co-created care pathways, a health-economic analysis, evaluation frameworks, and transferable playbooks and recommendations that other organisations can reuse.
Funding and partners
SprING is EU-funded through the European Regional Development Fund (EFRO) under the GTI Digitalisering call. The consortium brings together UHasselt, Jessa Hospital, Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg and Qompium, the team behind FibriCheck. The project runs from 1 February 2025 to 31 January 2027.
FibriCheck’s role
FibriCheck is integrated as the digital telemonitoring tool inside the hospitals’ existing IT systems, so patients can be followed remotely as part of the hybrid pathway rather than through in-person visits alone.
