Objective
To bring FibriCheck’s remote heart-monitoring solution to Fitbit smartwatch users in Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Approach
FibriCheck’s device-agnostic solution integrates into Fitbit’s range of consumer wearables. By leveraging the built-in photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors available in virtually all devices, FibriCheck built a fully compatible app that runs on Fitbit OS, enhancing the value proposition for prospective buyers and boosting functionality for existing users.
Outcome
The partnership brings FibriCheck’s certified, clinically tested solution to potentially millions of consumers. Users see the results of their measurements in real time, either on their smartwatch or via their smartphone, and can share them automatically with their doctor through FibriCheck’s cloud infrastructure. Since launch in September 2019, more than 500,000 heart-rhythm measurements have been made using Fitbit devices, extending the benefits of mHealth to a new cross-section of the public.
