Objective
To raise awareness and improve atrial fibrillation detection rates across the MENA region.
Approach
Through a national disease awareness campaign, people in the United Arab Emirates are informed about atrial fibrillation and its risks and invited to download the Altibbi app to check whether their heart rhythm is regular. After a risk stratification, at-risk users monitor their heart rhythm with FibriCheck for 7 days. When FibriCheck detects atrial fibrillation, Altibbi facilitates a cardiologist appointment to confirm the diagnosis via ECG and, if needed, provide care to prevent a stroke.
Outcome
The goal of this active, targeted case-finding programme is to identify and reach 100,000 people at risk of developing or living with atrial fibrillation, closing the detection gap for the condition across the region.
