Sharing your Screening Data with Cigna

We greatly value your privacy! At Cigna, we respect our customers’ and clients’ right to privacy and value the trust they place in us. Our business depends on our clients’ and customers’ willingness to entrust us with their health-related and other sensitive personal information. Consequently, we are committed to the responsible management, use, and protection of our customers’ and clients’ personal information.

The below summarizes how your screening data will be processed by Cigna when you agree to share it with Cigna. Please refer to the Data Protection Notice provided by Cigna for a comprehensive explanation of how Cigna stores, uses, processes, shares and protects your personal data.

What kind of information will be shared with Cigna?

  • When you consent to share your screening data with Cigna, only the following data elements will be shared: first name, last name, e-mail address, date of birth, gender, performed measurements recorded by the FibriCheck app, label of performed measurements, symptoms and activity you log for these measurements.

What will Cigna do with your screening data?

  • Your screening data will be used to better understand your health profile and to enable Cigna to provide you with service and advice that is even better tailored to your needs.
  • Cigna may also use your screening data to develop new services, features and products in the future.
  • Your screening data will not be used for underwriting purposes.

  • If you do not agree with the above, we must ask you not to consent to share your data. Your choice will not affect current or future services you enjoy from Cigna. However, it is possible that our services will be less tailored to your needs if you chose not to share your screening data with Cigna.

Who within Cigna has access to your personal data, including screening data?

  • Only Cigna staff who need to know in order to process your personal information for the purposes described above will have access to your personal data. Refer to the Data Privacy Notice provided to you by Cigna for more details about who will have access to your personal data transferred to Cigna.
  • It is important that you are aware that your personal data will not be sold or made available to other parties.

How long does Cigna keep your personal data on file?

  • Cigna retains personal data in accordance with its Records Management Program and the applicable Records Retention Schedule. Under the Records Management Program, personal data records are subject to retention and destruction depending on a number of factors, including regulatory requirements, business necessity, and client contractual obligations. What data subject rights do you have?

  • Cigna has appropriate processes in place to comply with applicable data subject rights. These processes align with our overarching enterprise data privacy policies and procedures which have been designed to meet applicable legal and regulatory standards as well as best practices. What does Cigna do to protect your personal data?

  • Cigna has put in place a variety of advanced security measures at a technical and organisational level to prevent the unauthorised or unlawful processing of your personal data and to protect your data against accidental loss, destruction or damage, access, disclosure or use.

How do you withdraw your consent to share your screening data with Cigna?

You are free to withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal data at any time by definitively removing the FibriCheck App and/or by notifying FibriCheck in writing for which processing activity/activities you wish to withdraw your consent (by sending an e-mail to dpo@fibricheck.com). In response, FibriCheck shall immediately cease all processing of your Personal Data for purposes for which you have withdrawn your consent. However, the withdrawal shall have no impact on the validity of the processing operations which were previously performed with your personal data. Terms and conditions

  1. FibriCheck is available for members to download from now till 31 Dec 2021, and are strictly while stocks last. Please note that there are limited licenses available.
  2. Each member will be able to use FibriCheck for a period of 7 consecutive days.
  3. All members must complete 7 consecutive days to receive a personalised report
  4. The use of the FibriCheck app does not replace medical attention that should still be sought if a member is already symptomatic (for e.g. chest pains, chest tightness, breathlessness etc.)
  5. All data collected by FibriCheck is kept confidential, and will not be shared with member’s organisation.
  6. The FibriCheck Services are managed by Qompium, a company incorporated under Belgian law.
  7. FibriCheck is an application that determines heart rhythm conditions, with a primarily focus on the timely detection of atrial fibrillation. FibriCheck provides the following Services: A smartphone application, a smartwatch application, the FibriCheck dashboard and the related webpages.
  8. FibriCheck is an application certified as a medical device in Europe (CE Class IIa), USA (FDA cleared) and Australia (TGA-cleared). A diagnosis though is always made by a physician and FibriCheck can never replace any medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you think you may have a medical emergency, please contact your physician or emergency services immediately.
  9. To use FibriCheck, you must accept our Terms of Use. They set out the rules for using our services (including the FibriCheck Services).
  10. To use FibriCheck, you must also agree and consent to our Privacy Policy. The personal data you share with us remains your property and Qompium will only use it to provide services (including the FibriCheck Services) to you.   11. To subscribe to FibriCheck, you must provide us with some personal information and be at least 18 years old.
  12. You may only use our service as its intended and you are together with us, responsible for the confidentiality of your use.
  13. If you violate our Terms of Use, you risk no longer being able to use FibriCheck.
