At the MUMC, these monitoring rules have been customized for patients being monitored prior to their scheduled cardioversion. When an AF patient spontaneously converts to sinus rhythm, or when five consecutive measurements show normal sinus rhythm, healthcare providers are automatically alerted. This allows them to assess whether the planned cardioversion can be safely cancelled, helping to avoid unnecessary procedures.
